The opal is special to me because it is my mother's favorite gemstone and the birthstone of my youngest daughter, Addi Kate.  Historically, it was considered a stone that could provide great luck because it was believed to possess all the virtues of each gemstone whose color was represented in it's color spectrum.

Designed with a beginner in mind, this flower requires some very basic hand sewing.  No previous sewing experience and no sewing machine required!
